My invitation love story...
While planning our own wedding, my husband and I just couldnt seem to find the perfect design to fit the colors, theme, and overall feel for our wedding, even after searching high and low! So, I think it was both my determined attitude and refusal to settle (which my husband has grown to love I'm sure!) combined with a love for all things beautiful and creative that prompted us to finally decide that I would take on the responsibility of creating the perfect invitation suite myself! I was thrilled to be able to create something that was uniquely ours, and immediately began the design process. Since we were planning to be married by the water, right on the Chesapeake Bay, we decided that a simple starfish represented exactly what we were looking for, elegance with a seaside feel. And so, that quickly became a central theme in our wedding and our invitations. I went from designing just the invitations, to designing "all things paper" for the wedding, save the dates, place cards, table cards, thank you cards, even favor and tribute table signs, you name it, and I LOVED every minute of it. From that point on, it became my dream to create unique invitations and help brides fulfill their perfect paper vision for their weddings (or other events) full time. It wasnt until something horrible happened that this dream could actually come true though. The company that I had worked for since I graduated from college abruptly went out of business, and I was promptly left jobless. It felt like the whole world was crashing down on me and the pressure to quickly find another good job was pressing. I applied for position after position, and it seemed like all of the "good ones" were taken. Once again, I was persistent and completely determined to find just the right one! When the right one never seemed to come, I began to dream again about having my own business and getting to do something that I absolutely love. If this wasnt the perfect time to go for it, then there would never be one! So I began to use all of my unemployed time to focus on creating a business and getting everything off the ground. And then, ever so slowly, The Silver Starfish was born! Why The Silver Starfish you ask? Because that's the vision that started it all. A single, tiny starfish was stamped in silver on each and every one of our wedding invitations. I remember well the day that I completed our first invitation and saw all of the details of our big day right there in a beautiful coral print. I felt relieved and nervous, but most of all SO incredibly excited that my dreams for my wedding were actually becoming real! That was one of the most wonderful, fulfilling feelings that I had throughout the planning process, and I'd love the opportunity to join you in making YOUR wedding dreams become a reality too! I'm more than well aware that your wedding is one of the most important events of your life , and I ensure you that I will take yours just as seriously as I did my own. My goal is to provide the easiest, most stress free experience possible, and hopefully we'll even get to have a little fun along the way too!
